MEMO TO: ALL FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS AND VISITORS
FROM: SHIRLEY CASSEL
We have been directed by the Ministry of Health to begin the active screening of all visitors, resident admissions, re-admissions and returning residents. We are also actively screening all staff, volunteers, students and contractors. Due to this directive from the Ministry we are restricting visiting times at the Home from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm only. This is when we will have a screener on-site. If you wish to make other arrangements, please contact the Home.
Family members who have swipe cards will only have access between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Swipe cards will not work between 7:00 pm and 11:00 am. Staff have been instructed not to give entry to visitors between 7:00 pm and 11:00 am. If you need to make special arrangements, please contact us.
Emerging information on COVID-19 suggests elderly individuals and those with underlying health conditions are at increased risk of severe outcomes.
We are also doing the following as requested by the Ministry:
Post signage and advise visitors who have travelled to affected areas to postpone their visit to the HomeEnsure availability and accessibility of hand hygiene throughout the HomeKeep staff and residents informed on COVID-19Remind staff to stay home when they are sickAssess incoming residents for respiratory symptoms and potential exposures to COVID-19Monitor residents for new respiratory symptoms or fever
The well-being of residents in our Home is our top priority. We will continue to monitor this situation closely and ensure that we are prepared.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter
Sincerely
Shirley Cassel Administrator
